It is with great pleasure that we can report that Montenegro is planning to celebrate the Coast Day again this year, as has become tradition for them. Apart from work with school children, as was their practice in the previous years, this year they will expand their activities to involve adult population. Thus, on September 23, the organisers will visit all elementary schools in the capital city, Podgorica, and the coastal municipalities and distribute promotional materials, while one school has been selected as eco-case (different school each year) where a lecture will be organised on environmental protection with a special emphasis on the sea. Given the principal topic of this year’s celebration “A Blue Economy for a Healthy Mediterranean”, which is suited for a wider audience, it was decided to organise a round table for adult population. Representatives of relevant organisations and institutions have been contacted to secure lecturers that will hold presentations through which the importance of the blue economy for both economic development and environmental protection would be explained and made easier to adopt.
